Background & Condition

Encephalitis, the symptoms of Encephalitis such as Photophobia and contracture limbs.

Patient is disoriented, confused and agitated.

Poor appetite and insomnia at night.

 

After Home Care

Mental status is improved. Emotion is clam.

Can communicate with caregiver so as the family members.

Active Global Holistic Caregiving Plan

Support to Specific Condition:

For the Encephalitis Care:

(1) Based on the Photophobia, we will set curtains in the patient’s room to avoid bright light streaming through the windows.

(2) For the contracture limbs, we will clear patient’s palm and massage the limbs every day and put gauze roll in the patient palm to avoid the muscles contraction.

 

Basic Activities of Daily Life:

Basic Care.

Monitoring of conditions and vital signs. (Especially the body temperature and the level of conscious).

Medication Compliance.

Regular turning of patient’s position.

Keep bedding hygiene. Keep skin dry and avoid pressure sore.

Set bed handrails for fall prevention.

 

Rehab Exercise:

Encourage muscular exercise to increase the strength of muscle.

Doing physical therapy exercise to encourage the active use of limbs.

 

Psychological Aspect:

Respect and protect the privacy of patient.

Understand patient’s need.

Encourage patient. Teach him relative knowledge about his disease.
