What Type of Respite Staff Is Right For Me?

  • Health Worker (HW)
Besides Personal Care Workers' tasks, Health Workers are also trained to provide urinary (Foley) catheter care, emptying urine bags, wound dressing, dialysis (PD), insulin injection, stoma care, oxygen therapy and nasogastric tube (NGT) care.
  • Enrolled / Registered Nurse (EN/RN)
Higher qualification than Health Workers. Able to perform more complex nursing procedures such as tracheostomy care, suctioning, intravenous, intramuscular injections, IV drips and blood taking

FAQs

  • Can the Local Respite Staff also take care of house work?
We believe that every patient should receive one-on-one care, which requires the full attention of the care staff. Therefore, we recommend not to distract them with other non-caring tasks.
  • Can I ask the Care Staff to cook?
Although our healthcare staff does not provide cooking services, they would not mind reheating or making simple meals for the patients such as those that require purried diet.
  • Can I request to have a male cargiver for my father?
Yes, because some male patients would naturally feel more comfortable with a care staff of the same gender.
  • What are the payment methods?
You can choose between bank transfer or a simple cheque.
